Tips and tricks for Raiser's Edge

  • If you are unable to log into the Blackbaud OnDemand website:
    • it may be that you have not yet logged into the Monash Internet at https://netlogin.monash.edu.au or
    • it could be that the Monash Internet has had some issues and you may need to login again.
  • To include as many records as possible when you do your search, make sure you have ticked off all checkboxes at the bottom of the Open screen, except for "Exact match only". Don't forget that in order to do this you will have to type at least one letter in the Sur/org name or the First name field.
  • There are 2 wildcards that can be very useful when you are searching Constituent names. These can be used at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of a word. You can even use both of these wildcards at the same time.
    • * takes the place of a group of characters
    • ? takes the place of an individual character
  • Alias names have been entered into the surname field of the Alias records. For example, Mary Smith's alias Mary Jones (her Maiden name) will appear in the Surname field. To widen your search when including aliases, add the wildcard * before the surname, eg. * Jones, so that the system will look for all letters before "Jones".
  • Asian names can be difficult to locate. Some of the names will be completely in the Surname field with nothing in the First Name field, and some are a combination of both. Using the * wildcard can be very useful as you try the different variations. As a general rule if there is a western name, included in the Asian name this should be typed in the First Name field.
  • To access the Open screen when you are currently in a Constituent record, but do not want to close the record you are in, hold down Ctrl + I , this will take you back to the Open screen so you can search and open a second record without closing the first.
