Audit & Risk Management Office
The Audit & Risk Management Office is an independent appraisal function within the University, established by the University Council to provide on-going management oriented assessments of the University's operations and internal controls.
Our vision is to be recognised by our clients and peers as a first class provider of audit assurance, risk management and management consulting and advisory services.
Our mission is to help the University accomplish its objectives through the provision of high quality and value added, assurance, risk management and consulting and advisory services.
Our staff are employees of the University and are accountable to senior management and the
University Council. Our primary clients are University management
and the Audit Committee of Council. We also provide services to
- students
- other staff
- the Victorian Auditor-General
- various granting & sponsoring organisations
On the other hand, the University's external auditors are staff of the Victorian Auditor-General who is responsible to Parliament. Their role is to audit the University's annual financial statements each year and to provide an audit opinion on the accounts prepared.
