Crisis Management & Recovery Planning
Monash University has invested considerable resources on the
implementation of crisis management and recovery planning:
- Crisis teams have been established at all Monash campuses;
- Members of these teams have been trained in aspects of crisis
management;
- Comprehensive crisis plans have been developed and documented in
manuals for each campus.
The Audit Committee of Council has put in place the following
arrangements in relation to crisis management planning, effective
immediately:
- The Vice-President (Administration) office will
- assume overall responsibility for crisis management planning and
recovery across the University;
- ensure that crisis teams on each campus meet at least annually to
identify current threats and review the adequacy and currency of their
crisis plans;
- ensure that the plans are regularly tested with full-scale crisis
simulation exercises held on each campus at least, every two years.
- The University Security Manager will
- provide on-going administrative support to the Vice-President (Administration)
office in this area;
- prepare regular email advices to staff on crisis management;
- develop and maintain the
crisis management and recovery website;
- co-ordinate and review the activities of the various campus crisis
teams;
- ensure that information in the various crisis manuals is current.
- A general email advice on crisis management is to be issued to all
University staff every 6 months.
