Monash Support Experience Questionnaire (MSEQ)The need for the Monash Experience Questionnaire (MEQ) was recognised in the ‘Still Learning’ institutional self-review in 2002 and the instrument to measure current student satisfaction with their experiences at Monash was developed and administered in 2003. It is now a core component to the University’s regular monitoring devices. Following its successful first administration, MEQ05 was adapted to exclude students’ views of their experience and satisfaction with administration and support services and the decision was taken to develop an instrument – the Monash Support Experience Questionnaire (MSEQ) – to focus particularly on these aspects. MEQ and MSEQ will be administered in alternate years with the first administration of MSEQ in August 2006. The ability to distinguish quality of services provided by faculties and central services was a key consideration in design of MSEQ. Throughout the questionnaire there is opportunity for students to provide free text comment on their experience. The key components of the survey is summarised below:
