The purpose of academic and support service reviews is to assist the University to assure itself of the quality of its academic endeavour and support services and to utilise learning from this essentially developmental process to effect improvement. Reviews begin with a self-review phase, followed by the visit of a review panel which normally includes members external to the University. Guidelines for ReviewEach area of the University’s operations is normally reviewed every five years although a shorter cycle is discretionary. In the academic area, the unit being reviewed may be the whole faculty, schools and departments within the faculty, or any combination of these. For support services, the unit for review may be the whole division/centre, a section of the division or any combination of these. The following Guidelines documents detail the review process from initiation through to post-review implementation and monitoring:
