Family And Child CareChild Care CentresOn-CampusMonash University supports six child care centres across four of its campuses: Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula and Gippsland. Four of these centres are operated by independent co-operatives (with overall management responsibility resting with Parent Management Committees) and 2 are operated by the campus based student association.Waiting ListsDue to the high demand for child care places, the university does not guarantee access. Parents are advised to contact services for waiting list details, including waiting list applications. Each of these centres is licensed by the Department of Human Services and can offer the Child Care Benefit to parents who qualify through the Family Assistance Office. The Elwyn Morey Centre Early Childhood Intervention Program offers group programs and services to children aged birth to 6 years with Developmental Disabilities and their families. For further information, email: elwynmorey@education.monash.edu.au or telephone (03) 9905-2887. For child care enquiries for the Berwick & Parkville Campus, please contact Family & Child Care on (03) 9905-3156. Child care fees payable to these services are exempt from fringe benefits tax. The University has therefore negotiated with each of the centres to facilitate salary packaging of child care fees for parents who are staff members of the University. An estimator is provided for you to assess your specific circumstances regarding claiming either CCB or salary packaging. This is not be deemed as financial advice. You are reminded to seek financial advice in relation to making any decision regarding salary packaging.
