General Information and Reminders

Lunches and Snacks

Lunches and Snacks also need to be packed as MUSHP does not provide for these.

Lunches need to include a balance in treats and healthy snacks, as the holiday program day is a long day, and experience suggests that childrens appetites are very active and require regular nourishment. It is strongly recommended that children will require more snacks than they would take with them in their school lunch.

Drinks and Water bottles

Drinks and water bottles are also essential items, as facilities are made available to refill water bottles.

An additional group water storage unit is kept at each venue during the summer to ensure children have access to regular supplies of water.

Fruit Breaks

To encourage healthy eating, staff schedule 2-3 fruit breaks a day, to provide children with the opportunity replenish their energy levels. These are scheduled in addition to lunchtime and morning/afternoon tea.

Swimming Days

On SWIMMING DAYS please pack a towel and bathers in bag, as well as sandals or thongs. The children will change into their sandals prior to leaving their venue for the pool. This helps in the supervision of children when changing, as children will leave shoes and socks at the venue.

If you are to collect your child from swimming, please let the group leader know as your child will need to take their bag with them to swimming.

Sunsmart

Hats and Sunblock are essential items for the January and September programs, and are also highly recommended for April. This recommendation is made as the children spend more time outside compared to thier school routines. For further information please see the Sunmart website

Suitable Clothing - what to wear and pack

It is important for your child to wear suitable clothing, including footwear. Additional clothing may be packed, and important items to be packed include a windcheater and coat in the event of rain.
