How to claim copyright protection
Copyright arises automatically and does not need to be registered in Australia. However, it is still advisable to use a copyright notice.
When the University is the copyright owner, the following notice should be used, whether the work is published in print or electronically
© Monash University (insert year) Except as provided in the Copyright Act 1968, this work may not be reproduced in any form without the written permission of (insert email address of relevant faculty/department/centre).
If a work is published on line, "© Monash University (year)" should appear on each page.
The Copyright notice indicates the year copyright ownership was first asserted. Do not change this to accord with the year the site was last updated.
