TRIM Training

Monash staff who manage records are invited to attend TRIM Training. TRIM is currently only available to Active Directory users within the Monash domain, and encompasses Central Records, Facilities and Services Records, Faculty Records (ie. Faculty of Education), Human Resources Records, Research Records, Residential Records and Student Records.

The TRIM Training course combines an introductory presentation with PC based learning, discussion and useful examples. Learning is further supported by the provision of a User Guide, Quick Reference Guides and access to the TRIM Service Desk.

Before you are able to use TRIM a number of things need to happen.

  • Step 1: Complete and submit an authorised TRIM Access Forms.
  • Step 2: Records and Archives Services will notify you if the application is approved or denied
  • Step 3: If approved, register into a TRIM Training course
  • Step 4: Attend the TRIM Training course
  • Step 5: Start using TRIM

TRIM Training courses are available for staff who wish to:

  • Search and View records (Enquiry Users), or
  • Search, View and Create records (End Users)

If a particular course is unavailable, contact the TRIM Service Desk to find out how a course can be arranged.

Alternatively, if a Faculty or Division is not currently using TRIM but would like to, contact the Records Manager - catherine.nicholls@monash.edu to find out what requirements are involved with implementing a rollout.
