Monash Yoshida Scholarship

The Yoshida Scholarship was established to support a research trip to Japan to support students undertaking Honours in the Japanese or Asian Studies Program, School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
• an international student, and
• a current undergraduate student, and
• enrolled or intending to enrol in an honours degree in Japanese studies or Asian studies in the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia, and
• conducting research in Japan as part of the honours degree.

Selection criteria

Awarded to eligible students on the basis of academic achievement. All students must provide a written statement with their application outlining the necessity of conducting research in Japan, a coherent research plan approved by their supervisor, and a detailed program for their research trip.

Value and number available

$5000 one-off payment. One scholarship is available.

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
