Monash Vice Chancellor's Honours-PhD Scholarship
The Monash Vice Chancellor's Honours-PhD Scholarship are offered to acknowledge and encourage high achieving undergraduate students to continue onto undergraduate honours and Higher Degree by Research programs.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be:

an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
-
an international student, and
-
enrolled in an undergraduate degree at Monash, and
-
commencing your final year* of full-time undergraduate study at a Monash campus in Australia in semester 1 2010.
* Final year of undergraduate study includes an honours year, the final year of a degree program with embedded honours units, or the final year of a professional degree for which students are awarded a degree ‘with honours’. Students enrolled in masters (honours) programs are not eligible.
Selection criteria
Awarded to eligible students based on academic achievement. To be considered, students must have achieved outstanding results in relevant studies. Students will be invited to apply by their faculty and will be asked to demonstrate an interest in research by submitting a written statement and/or attending an interview.
Value
Honours component: $5000 per 48 credit points of study for a maximum of one year only.
PhD component: a Monash Graduate Scholarship for a maximum of 3 years full-time study.

10. One scholarship will be offered to the eligible student from each faculty.
Retention
Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment and achieve a H1 honours grade in order to qualify for a Monash Graduate Scholarship, the PhD component of the scholarship.
Deferability
The honours component of the scholarship cannot be deferred. However, students will be permitted to defer the commencement of the PhD component of the scholarship for a maximum of one year.

All eligible students will be automatically assessed.
