Monash Elmore Primary Health Bursary

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• An Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa and,
• a commencing undergraduate student enrolled in the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery Extended Rural Cohort at a Monash campus in Australia, and
• from one or more of Monash University’s defined equity or personal disadvantage groups, and
• able to demonstrate leadership qualities.

Selection criteria

Awarded on the basis of need to eligible applicants who demonstrate:

• leadership qualities
• a knowledge of and expressed interest in rural health
• a commitment to work in rural health
• a willingness to promote rural health as a positive career choice.

Value

$1,000 per annum for the duration of the degree up to a maximum of 5 years.

Retention

Recipients must maintain contact with Elmore Primary Health, as requested by Elmore Primary Health, once per year and a minimum of a pass grade average (50 per cent).

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
