Monash University Business and Economics Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
  • studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2011, or
  • a continuing undergraduate student, or
  • a commencing or continuing postgraduate (coursework) student, and
  • enrolled or intending to enrol in a coursework degree in the Faculty of Business and Economics coursework at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible Year 12 students based on their ATAR score or equivalent. Students must have achieved an ATAR score or equivalent of at least 95.00.

Continuing students are selected based on highest academic performance with a minimum of a high distinction weighted average mark (80 per cent). Undergraduate students must have completed at least 48 credit points of study, of which 36 credit points must be units in the Faculty of Business and Economics. Graduate students must have completed 24 credit points of study in the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Value and number available

$6000 per 48 credit points of study, for the minimum number of credit points required to complete the degree. The number available is variable depending on funding. In 2011, seven scholarships were available.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a minimum of a distinction weighted average mark (70 per cent).

Deferability

This scholarship can be deferred.
