Monash Gippsland Industry Placement Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa, or permanent humanitarian visa, and
  • completed Year 12 or IB or equivalent, and
  • a commencing student or a continuing full-time on-campus first-year or second-year undergraduate student and enrolled or intending to enrol in an approved course in one of the following faculties at the Monash Gippsland campus: 

  - Art, Design and Architecture
  - Arts
  - Business
  - Engineering
  - Information Technology
  - Science

Selection criteria

The scholarship will be awarded to eligible students based on a combination of:

  • academic achievement
  • the applicant’s expectation in relation to industry-based learning and their self assessment of what they believe they can contribute to a host employer
  • performance at an interview with Monash staff and industry representatives
  • involvement in school and community activities
  • leadership and work experience
  • motivation, enthusiasm and commitment.

Value and number available

  • $15000 paid in four $3750 instalments in the third year of the degree.
  • $7,500 paid in four $1875 instalments in the third year of the degree for students enrolled in an Art and Design degree.

Up to 40 scholarships are available.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a full-time on-campus enrolment and satisfactorily complete:

  • the IPP Professional Development Program
  • four out of four units studied in each semester of undergraduate studies
  • a 26 week industry placement with a satisfactory level of performance
  • the faculty academic IPP unit assessment.

Deferability

This scholarship can be deferred.
