Monash Gippsland – East Gippsland Shire Council Bursaries

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
• a commencing student intending to enrol in an on-campus full-time undergraduate course at the Monash Gippsland Campus, and
• a resident of East Gippsland Shire Council, and
• from one or more of Monash Universities defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.

* does not include students in the graduate entry Medical degree.

Selection criteria

Awarded to students based on need.  Further consideration will be given to students based on ENTER score or equivalent.   Preference will be given to students residing in Monash Residential Services.

Value

$3,000 per annum for one year only. For students enrolled in Monash Residential Services the $3000 is subtracted from the student’s Monash Residential Service accommodation fee. 

Number available in 2009

Four. One of these bursaries will be allocated to a student who is an Indigenous Australian.

Retention

Recipients must be enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum of a pass grade average (50 per cent).

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
