Monash Gippsland – Wellington Shire Council Bursary

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
• a commencing student intending to enrol in an on-campus full-time undergraduate course* at the Gippsland Campus at Monash University, and
• a resident of Wellington Shire, and
• from one or more of Monash University’s defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.

* does not include students in the graduate entry Medical degree.

Selection criteria

Bursaries will be awarded to students based on need.  Further consideration will be given to students based on ENTER score or equivalent. Preference for one bursary will be given to eligible applicants who intend to live in on-campus accommodation at the Gippsland campus.

Value

Two bursaries valued at $3000 paid per 48 credit points of study for a maximum of one year.

For the accommodation bursary the $3000 is subtracted from the student’s Monash Residential Service accommodation fee.

Recipients must be enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum of a pass grade average (50 per cent).

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
