Industry Based Learning Placement Scholarships
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
- a current Monash student who commenced studies in 2006 or later, and
- enrolled full-time in any of the following degrees at a Monash campus in Australia:
- Bachelor of Business Information Systems
- Bachelor of Computer Science
- Bachelor of Software Engineering
- Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Information Systems.
Selection criteria
The Industry-Based Learning Placement Scholarship is awarded based on an interview conducted by the industry partners of the IBL program. The selection criteria include good communication skills, maturity, enthusiasm, initiative, leadership qualities, extra-curricular interests and participation, academic performance (minimum grade average of 70 per cent) exposure to paid work and career interests.
Value
$15,000 per annum for one year only.

Variable, depending on funding.
Retention
Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum of a distinction grade average (70 per cent).
Deferability
This scholarship cannot be deferred.
2009 Applications
The Faculty of Information Technology may send out an invitation to students who meet the initial selection criteria, inviting them to apply for the program. Final selection will be determined by an interview with industry partners. Students must have completed course and unit pre-requisites before being considered for admission to the program.
