Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship

The Monash University Jubilee Honours Scholarship was introduced to acknowledge the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Monash University and to encourage high-achieving undergraduate students to continue into research programs.     

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
  • an international student, and  
  • commencing a separate full-time 48 credit point honours degree program at a Monash campus in Australia in 2009. 

Selection criteria

These honours scholarships will be available to students who have completed their undergraduate degree at Monash University or another university. Scholarships will be awarded to the highest achieving students who achieve a minimum of a high distinction (80%) grade average in previous tertiary studies. 

A number of scholarships will also be made available for domestic students who, in addition to meeting the criteria stated above, are from one or more of Monash University's defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.

* Applicants from other universities are required to submit certified copies of their academic transcripts by the application closing date.

$5,000 per 48 credit points of study, up to a maximum of one year only.

Retention

Recipients of this scholarship must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum of a distinction grade average (70%).

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.

Applications open 10:00am (AEST) Friday 1 August 2008 and close 5:00pm (AEST) Friday 31 October 2008.
