Mabel Kent Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
• a commencing or continuing Monash undergraduate student enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery* at a Monash campus in Australia, and
• able to demonstrate financial disadvantage.

*This includes the graduate entry Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery offered at Gippsland campus.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students based on a combination of academic achievement and need. Students must have achieved an ATAR score or equivalent of at least 95.00. Continuing students must have achieved a minimum of a high distinction weighted average mark (80 per cent).

Value and number available

Variable, depending upon funding. In 2011, three scholarships were available.

Retention

Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment.

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
