Monash Mathematical Sciences Honours Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
  • an international student, and
  • enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in the Honours degree of Bachelor of Science, or the 48 credit point honours year in the Bachelor of Science Advanced with Honours, in an area of mathematical sciences, in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Monash University Clayton campus, and
  • supervised by a staff member in the School of Mathematical Sciences.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students based on academic merit. To be eligible students must have achieved a minimum average mark of 85 per cent in 24 points of relevant* mathematical sciences units at level three. In addition students must have obtained a final mark of 70 per cent in each individual undergraduate unit in mathematical sciences that counted towards completion of their degree.

* Relevant mathematical sciences units are units used to determine eligibility for admission to honours.

Value and number available

$2500 per 48 credit points of study for a maximum of one year only for students who have achieved an average of at least 90 per cent in 24 points of relevant level-three mathematics units.

$2000 per 48 credit points of study for a maximum of one year only for students who have achieved an average between 85 – 89 per cent in 24 points of relevant level-three mathematics units.

The number of scholarships available is variable depending on funding.

Retention

Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment.

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
