MRS Residential Indigenous Leadership Pathway Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an Indigenous Australian, and
  • enrolled in or intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia, and
  • intending to reside at Monash Residential Services.

Selection criteria

Awarded to eligible applicants based on the selection criteria below:

  • demonstrated leadership qualities which may include public speaking experience; experience holding office-bearer positions on committees and clubs
  • evidence of significant active involvement within the Indigenous community
  • a capacity and willingness to act as an ambassador on behalf of Indigenous people at Monash Residential Services events and activities throughout the year.

Value and number available

$3000 payable as ten $300 monthly rebates (February to November) paid to the student's Monash Residential Services account for one year only. Half scholarships valued as $1500 and payable as ten $150 rebates are also available. If an applicant receives the scholarship after February, they will receive the scholarship for the remainder of the residential year (ie from July-November) at the rate of $300 per month. Up to five scholarships are available at any one time, or equivalent half scholarships.

Retention

Recipients must remain a resident in Monash Residential Services, maintain a full-time enrolment and a minimum of a pass weighted average mark (50 per cent). Students must not be in breach of any current Monash Residential Services Conditions of Residency. Refer to the MRS website

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred

Application Information
