Ryvka and Mordechai Lewin Memorial Yiddish Travel Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
• an international student, and
• enrolled in one of the following Yiddish language units in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia in 2009:
  • JWC1060 Yiddish Language, Culture and Literature 1A
  • JWC1070 Yiddish Language, Culture and Literature 1B
  • JWC2110 Yiddish Language, Culture and Literature 2A
  • JWC2120 Yiddish Language, Culture and Literature 2B
  • JWC3110 Yiddish Language, Culture and Literature 3A
  • JWC3120 Yiddish Language, Culture and Literature 3B

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving students with a minimum of a distinction grade average (70 per cent) in Yiddish studies. Financial hardship may also be taken into consideration.

$3,000 one-off payment.

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
