Monash Sport Bursary

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
• an international student, and
• currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a Monash campus in Australia, and
• involved in a non-professional sport, as recognised by Monash Sport.

Students must not be in receipt of regular payments from other funding bodies for playing their sport.

Selection criteria

Awarded based on performance in the elected sport and sport level played and commitment to representing Monash University at interuniversity competitions, eg Australian University Games.

Value

A Monash Sport gym membership or $200 - $5,000 per annum for one year only, depending on the sport and the sport level played.

Variable, depending on funding.

Retention

Recipients must maintain satisfactory sporting performance, as determined by Monash Sport and the athletes Monash sporting club. In addition, students must maintain a minimum of a credit grade average in their studies (60 per cent) and regularly represent Monash University in their sport.

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
