Yarram and District Health Service Accommodation Scholarship
This scholarship has been established to encourage young people to begin the pathway to working in the health and community welfare sectors in Yarram.
Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- an Australian citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian resident visa, and
- completing Year 12 at Yarram Secondary College in 2011, and
- intending to enrol full time in either Nursing, Biomedical Science, or Community Welfare degrees, or associated double degrees, at the Monash Gippsland campus, and
- living in Monash Residential Services at Gippsland campus in 2012.
Selection criteria
Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students. All applicants will also need to demonstrate a commitment to working in Yarram (as evidenced by a 200 word statement that explains the applicant's tie to Yarram and future career aspirations).
Value and number available
$6000 per annum for one year only. One scholarship is available.
Retention
Recipients must maintain full time enrolment and live in Monash Residential Services at the Gippsland campus.
Deferability
This scholarship cannot be deferred.
