Daniell Evelyn-Liardet
Bachelor of Science student, Daniell Evelyn-Liardet, says he was over the moon when he received the Monash University Indigenous Scholarship for Excellence and Equity.
“I was ecstatic. The scholarship is helping pay my fees and will also go towards buying a new laptop.”
Daniell attended Dromana Secondary College, a participant in Schools Access Monash. As part of the program a Monash tutor assisted with his studies and preparation for his Year 12 exams. Daniell chose Monash after attending Open Day and speaking to lecturers, and says he has found everyone to be really friendly.
“I’m doing a Bachelor of Science, specialising in Marine Freshwater Biology and Zoology, and am also undertaking Japanese studies.” Daniell also has a strong interest in genetics, and hopes to one day be a geneticist or a diplomat, and would love to travel, especially in Europe.
Daniell is really enjoying his time at Monash and living in on-campus accommodation, where he is able to walk to uni. He has joined the Science Club and is enjoying the social aspect of uni life, and says he has made many new friends.
