Conduct and Compliance Procedure - Personal Identification

Parent policy

Conduct and Compliance Policy

Preamble

Personal identification (ID) cards are issued to all members of staff and to other persons who have a requirement for a University ID card.

Procedure for issue

An ID card is generally issued when a person joins the University.

In order to obtain an ID card:

All staff and other persons issued with ID cards should carry them at all times in order to:

  • gain access to, and remain on University premises;
  • borrow books from the University library; and
  • access other University facilities.

Security officers will refuse entry to the University after normal hours if a valid ID card cannot be produced on demand.

Staff ID cards remain valid until recalled unless there is an expiry date printed on the card. If an expiry date has been reached, it may be extended by an officer of Monash HR. You should contact Monash HR Enquiries on 9902 0400 if you have queries regarding your Staff ID card.

All persons must return their ID cards to Monash HR when their employment or other business with the University ceases.

Responsibility

All staff and persons requiring University ID cards.
