Parent policy

Conduct and Compliance Policy

Preamble

Personal identification (ID) cards are issued to all members of staff and to other persons who have a requirement for a University ID card.

Procedure for issue

An ID card is generally issued when a person joins the University.

In order to obtain an ID card:

  • staff members must attend one of the Student Services Centres located at Clayton, Berwick, Caulfield, Gippsland, Peninsula or Parkville Campuses or HR Operations, Human Resources Division, level 2, 195 Wellington Road, Clayton between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm; and
  • other persons must complete an ID card application form (Application for SAP ID - unpaid relationships with Monash) and fax an authorized copy to HR Operations, prior to attending HR Reception for ID Collection.

All staff and other persons issued with ID cards should carry them at all times in order to:

  • gain access to, and remain on University premises;
  • borrow books from the University library; and
  • access other University facilities.

Security officers will refuse entry to the University after normal hours if a valid ID card cannot be produced on demand.

Staff ID cards remain valid until recalled unless there is an expiry date printed on the card. If an expiry date has been reached, it may be extended by an officer of the Human Resources Division.

All persons must return their ID cards to Human Resources Division when their employment or other business with the University ceases.

Responsibility

All staff and persons requiring University ID cards.
